12 WAM (Words Per Minutes)

What is the big advantage of learning how to keyboard? 

Keyboarding skills will surely make you more efficient

 

14 WAM (Words Per Minutes)

You will not have to look at the keys as your keyboard your data.

This will allow you to input data with great speed and accuracy.

16 WAM (Words Per Minutes)

Computers are used in so many school courses that computer time is scarce.

Those students who know how to keyboard will finish their jobs much faster. 

20 WAM (words per Minutes)

At some point in the future, you may need to gather data by using a public computer data base.

Becuse the cost is based upon the number of minutes required, you must keyboard vey quickly.

 

30 WAM (Words Per Minutes)

As you are probably aware, many colleges are now requiring students to know how to keyboard or to take a keyboarding course in their first year.

 College feel that since computers play such a vital rele in all of society, keyboarding skill is one of the most important skills you can have. 

 

40 WAM (Words Per Minutes)

All in all, the ability to keyboard information without having to switch back and forth from looking at the text to looking at the keyboard is a very useful skill one that you will use often.

Probably no other skill that you master will be of more use to you n your chosen career. You should congratulate yourself on having decided to take a keyboarding course and for sticking to it. 

 

Measurement of Typing Speed 

 

Total Typed Word = 230 (for Example)

incorrect word       = 5 (5X5= 25) if you type5 incorrect word then your 5 correct word included incorrect.

Total correct word = 230 - 25 = 205

Total Time             = 5 Minutes 

Typing Speed (net) = 205 / 5 = 41 Word Per Minutes (Speed = Total Correct Word / Time)
